I have been on Lexapro for anxiety/panic attacks about 4 months and I am so glad I made the decision based on my need and not the others on this board. I have not gained any weight at all. The only side effects I have experienced are vivd, dreams and daily night sweats. I haven't experienced any attacks and my moods are more stable and calm. This drug has been very positive for me.

Have been taking lexapro for 2 weeks? I feel much better like the fog has been lifted. I was such a emotional mess I have never felt so stable in my life...trully has helped me...side effects none really besides eating alot...but im skinny so i can, sexual side effects none...still get hard but takes longer to blow...(kind of nice tho)....so far so good.. I would strongly recommend starting with half a 10mg tab (ie 5mg) once a day in the morning after breakfast. Try and get some sunshine and relax. This med DOES work and is the only one around that makes you feel normal...and not like you are "on something". Daniel - Norvay
Lexapro gave me my life back, I can finally function around other ppl again b/c of it. Only ppl who are seriously depressed or suicidal or anxious all the time should take it. As for the sexual side effects, they're pretty mild for me. Depression and anxiety didn't exactly put me in the mood to begin with before I started taking this. Bill - Michigan
I have been on Lexapro for about 9 days now and I feel SO much better! I've never been treated for anxiety/depression before so I can't say if this is better or worse than other drugs but it's working for me. Thanks Mary
Ive been on lexapro for 4 years 30 mgs a day and i suffer from major depression after beening on lexapro i never had any problems with it. It works so well for me my sex life is great and i hadnt have any kind of depression in 4 years. give it a try! Lucia
I started Lexapro after a bout with anxiety and depression with insomnia. I had probably depleted myself nutritionally and emotionally after a really rough year. Lost my Dad, on-going struggles with eating disorders, chronically ill husband, etc ... what a difference. I have been on it for almost a year and I am fine. I feel great - like myself.
On for 6 months. Never been better.
Took Lexapro for about four years. It worked in relieving my depression, anger, and anxiety, but left me numb as well. Had almost no "lows" but no "highs" either. I had no side effects other than I now realize a reduced sex drive.
I just started using Prozac a couple of weeks ago and it has been life changing. I am a combat veteran who suffers from severe anxiety and sleeping problems and this drug has completely abated those symptoms. My mood is much better, I can concentrate for longer periods of time and I don't have the social anxiety that was plaguing me since I left the Marine Corps. All in all, this is a great drug that has helped me move on from my anxiety. I take 20mg per day (minimum dose) and that is working fine.
